Women of Nations and Pro Wrestling 4 Causes team-up for GrandSlam ‘18 at the Minneapolis American Indian Center on April 21st.

David Amitrano, Director of Finance and HR. “This amazing event will be held at the Minneapolis American Indian Center and with the great history of Minnesota Pro Wrestling and the past events held at MAIC, we have no doubt we will blow the roof off with this event!”

Minneapolis, MN. Flashback, April 17th, 1993, the National Wrestling Alliance, under the tutelage of Dennis Coralluzzo, and Eddie Sharkey’s Pro Wrestling America, presented GrandSlam 93’ emanating from the Minneapolis American Indian Center (MAIC). This event was historically significant because it assisted in launching several performers from local prominence to national conversation, including 20-year old, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), who debuted for then WWF, as The Kamikaze Kid, just over two week later.

Fast forward, almost 25-years to the day, on April 21st, 2018, Midwest All-Star Wrestling/Pro Wrestling 4 Causes (MAW/PW4C), In collaboration with Women of Nations (WON), will present, “GrandSlam ‘18: An Event 25-Years in the Making”.

The objective is similar, give the regions standout professional wrestlers the opportunity to compete in a high profile event at a historically important venue. A showcase of hungry and talented athletes each looking at potentially being the next, from Minnesota’s rich professional wrestling history, to follow in those footsteps. The cause, however, is much different.

“We are absolutely honored and privileged to be working with the Women of Nations” says Eli McCausland (coowner of MAW/PW4C), “the fact the show is taking place at the American Indian Center 25 years after the original GrandSlam is so cool. We are proud to pay homage to that fantastic event while raising funds to support a wonderful organization, one that does such important work!”

Professional wrestling will be the “Main Event”, but there will be many activities taking place on April 21st. A silent auction, prize raffle, local businesses and vendor guests will be on hand, a pro wrestling trivia contest, meet-and-greet opportunities with the stars of MAW/PW4C, and much more makes this event fun for everyone.

The show will start 7:00 PM, doors will open at 5:30 PM.
